Answers to Questions

1. Can I write my own instrument drivers in Metrics Switch?

Metrics Switch was designed to provide complete functionality for the instruments that it supports. As a result instrument drivers for Switch are more complex than those found in other popular programming environments. The benefit to the user is that there is no programming required to access all the functionality of the instruments. Metrics Technology's Application Services Group will provide a quote for any switch driver development you might need at support@metricstech.com.

2. Are there drivers available for the HP E5250A?

Yes.

3. Are drivers available for the Keithley 707?

Yes. The driver is part of the KISW driver library along with the 7001, 7002, 706, and 708 drivers. Please contact Metrics Technology at support@metricstech.com for information regarding supported Cards.

4. Can I use the Metrics Switch drivers directly from Visual Basic?

Metrics Switch drivers are not directly callable from Visual Basic. You can access the driver's functionality by using the DDE server within the Metrics Switch program.
