Answers to Questions

1. Does Metrics ICS support color printers?

Support for Windows supported color printers is included in Metrics ICS. Colors for any plot in Metrics ICS can be configured through the OPTIONS tools on each plot window.

2. How can I avoid a black plot background on my color printer?

Metrics ICS default background for on-screen plots is black. You may select a different color scheme by selecting the CUSTOM plot colors option from the OPTIONS tool in the plot window. To get a quick black and white plot on the color printer, select the MONOCHROME option. This feature will produce a white background with black foreground.

3. Can Metrics ICS print to my HP7475A GPIB plotter?

Metrics ICS supports plotters through the Windows Print Manager. Windows does not support GPIB plotters. There are several HP plotters that are supported in Windows through the RS-232 interface.

4. Does ICS support postscript printers?

Metrics ICS will support any postscript printer currently supported by Windows Print Manager.

5. How do I print to a network-shared printer from ICS?

A shared network printer has to be selected as the default printer in Windows Control Panel before it can be accessed by ICS. Open the printer control in the Control Panel window. If the network printer is not already connected select CONNECT and attach the printer to one of LPT: devices. Select the printer as the default printer and return to ICS. In the FILE/PRINT SETUP for Metrics ICS the network printer should be displayed. You are now ready to send print jobs to the printer.
